I need a poem topic idea!!!!?

ok i am in 8th grade and we are supposed to write a poem. and if its good people will put it in a magazine and u will win $100. i really need the money. (i doubt ill win) and i loveeee to write poetry anyway... im just out of ideas. i usually write in situations like abut a cutter or a girl thats brother died or sumthin... i was thinking abut writing about a girl that wants to commit suicide but decides not to b/c her friend called her and told her she loves her. do u think that would be a little too much for a 8th grader??? if so....any ideas?? PLEASE HELP
