Jeep Grand Cherokee electrical problems?

I have a 96 JGC 4.0L I6 4x4 LTD and my dash lights will go out, come back on, dim and brighten themselves, and I have linked that problem to the dimmer switch. Your problem sounds like an issue with the courtesy light system in combination with a problem with your light switch. I would have a dealership look into this, as if you start digging into things it may cause other un-intentional issues, such as alarm problems. Seems like the alarm systems in these darn jeeps are a bit temperamental.
