A dog what will eat and drink until she litterly makes herself sick?

I just bought a mini dachshund yesterday. She is very sweet and has a very good temperment, except for one thing. Food and water. I have a chihuahua who regulates himself when he eats so he has all access to food and water at all times. So when we brought her home she was soooooo skinny you could see ribs and spine no problem. I thought I would just let her go at the food and water but man was it wrong i HAD to take them both away by the time she was done she looked pregnant!! And she was also growling at my chi, so he couldnt eat or drink. How would I regulate her eating and drinking habbits without her over doing it? :(
